Teach

The unfortunate reality of being a teacher or student in our modern educational landscape is that schooling can often be so isolating, so much so that a classroom can often feel like a cage. To me, Global Education is a “cage busting” mentality and approach to education that seeks to help students create connections and priorities learning through service and experience. Throughout my career as a teacher, my goal has been to help students to find creative and authentic opportunities to contribute to their communities and build their leadership skills.

Below are some examples of the type of learning activities that my students have engaged in that I am most proud of and illustrate the values of global learning. Also included are resources that have shaped my vision of Global Education and have been helpful as an educator trying to foster students’ global competency.
